Bones are not uniform in size, but can be taken down to useable dimensions. the outer maybe 0.1mm of the bones have been eaten away by the solution the bones were laid in to remove the oil. So the outer layer of the bones is kind of like chalk, not dense and compact like the inner part but less dense and easily sanded away. I recommend sanding away a good 0.2mm away from all surfaces before using. After sanding I measured the density of one piece and compared to a piece bought from lmii.com. The piece had a density 5% less then the lmii sample piece. Overall very good price but needs work to bring down to a well dimensioned size. 5 stars for what you get for the price!
